Life certainly has its fair share of ups and downs, but if you tend to focus too much on the negative, it can affect everything you do.

A recent Harvard study found that optimists have lower blood pressure levels, heart disease rates and more.

Our attitude toward life determines life’s attitude towards us. ~Earl Nightingale

Always remember the life you have got is the only one and the time which once passed away will never come back. So make sure that that you are enjoying each and every second of your life as is priceless for you. It does not matter wheter you have money to enjoy or not. Even if you are not very rich it does not really matters much. Money is not the only way to enjoy your life.

Live by the one –day principle: “The only day you have is the day you wake up”

Yes you can plan for the future, but live every day as if it were your last.

Start your day in an optimism creating way.

A stress-free morning leads to less stressed feelings and thoughts during your day.

Don’t get angry with yourself if you find yourself feeling pessimistic.

Acknowledge that it is only natural to feel pessimistic at times, when life is boring or when you encounter difficulties or hardships.

 Choose Happiness.

Being happy is not about circumstances or any other outside force. Happiness is a decision we make.

Don’t play the victim. You create your life—take responsibility.

Even if our living situation becomes unbearable, there is always a way out. I will always have the choice to make change happen, if need be.

 Practice Gratitude.

Noticing and appreciating the positives in our lives offers a great mood boost.

I found this tip incredibly inspiring.

 Keep a gratitude journal.

Write down anything large or small that makes you smile, including terrific achievements, touching moments and great relationships. You don’t have to write every day, but make sure you open your journal at least once a week.

Ask yourself questions that let you see the optimistic viewpoint.

Questions like: What is one thing that is positive or good about this situation?

What can I learn from this situation?

What is the opportunity within this situation?

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.― Winston Churchill

 Reach Out and Help Someone.

We live in a culture that encourages egotism. Even our buzzwords – self-help, self-promotion, self-esteem – reflect our obsession with ourselves. But if you want to feel great about yourself, try giving to someone else.

 Surround yourself with positive people.

Staying around people who are positive about their future will inevitably make you feel positive as well. The people we associate with usually influence our world.

 Turn off the news…

Turn on something more uplifting, like the National Geographic Channel. Though you may think that vigilantly keeping up with the latest events is simply informing you, it may also be bringing you down.

 Time alone.

Don’t be afraid to let your family and friends know if you feel you need some time alone, especially during holidays and festivities. Be honest and say, I could really do with an hour alone: then come back feeling refreshed.

How do you stay positive and optimistic?

Count your blessings.
